These four individuals were instrumental in spreading the use of working Border Collies throughout the Northeast. All were active trialers, with their involvement dating back to the mid-1970s. Alex and Edgar significantly elevated the quality and availability of dogs by importing and breeding top stock from Britain. Maurice played a crucial role in educating others, offering clinics and lessons to help many learn how to train and work their dogs effectively. Meanwhile, Betty, a tireless ambassador for the breed, encouraged and supported countless individuals in utilizing Border Collies on their farms. Collectively, their efforts set the stage for the formation of the Northeast Border Collie Association.
